Justcoin was founded by Klaus Bugge Lund and Andreas Brekken. Klaus has a background in finance with a Master's degree in finance. Andreas is a highly experienced software architect.

It was founded on May 7th, 2013. It provides users with the option to deposit using bank wire (EUR, USD, NOK) and a [[Ripple]] gateway. Trading is conducted in BTC/EUR, BTC/USD, BTC/NOK, BTC/[[Litecoin|LTC]], BTC/XRP pairs.

A flat trading fee of 0,5% is applied to matched orders, which can be lowered down to 0,0%.

[[Bitcoin Vulnerability|Security]] of users' funds is claimed by the owners to be the main priority at all times. Most bitcoins are stored in encrypted offline wallets in bank vaults.
