Gridcoin uses a state of the art generation 2 Wallet. Next to the standard features of keeping track on transactions, addresses and current balance it also offers a link to the block explorer, website, and uniquely the BOINC stats. The wallet can be encrypted to optimize security. Out of past experiences there is a tool to automatically rebuild the blockchain or even download specific blocks from a node. It is possible to upgrade the client directly from the wallet. Gridcoin allows full sql queries against the whole chain, a feature which will be expanded in the future.
