Qubit is an algorithm based on the hash function, which has the same name. Initially, it was suitable for CPU mining. However, after the GPU mining software appeared, CPU mining became less effective. The coins, such as Qubitcoin (Q2C), Litecred (LTCR), Aseancoin (ASN), Geocoin (GEO), DigiByte (DGB) and others can be mined using Qubit.

The Qubit algorithm still retains quite a favorable position, but until recently, this algorithm is best suited to Nvidia, as ccMiner for these graphics cards was much more productive than the analog for AMD. However, today there is sgminer with Optimized qubit cores, which allows to achieve excellent performance on AMD-Pitcairn and Thaiti video cards.

There is a number of different calculators to count the profitability of mining using different algorithms. It is easy to find them in the Internet.
