ZEON — a new blockchain platform that is designed to scale in transaction rates and to implement the main functions for users such as safe participation in other projects, cross-chain trading, fast p2p transactions etc.
The cornerstone in ZEON’s design is the idea of sharding — dividing the network into smaller shards each capable of processing transactions in parallel.
Existing cryptocurrencies and smart contract platforms have widely recognized limitations in scaling.
Average transaction rates in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and related cryptocurrencies have been limited to below 10 (usually about 3-7) transactions per second (Tx/s).
A global payment network would likely require tens of thousands of Tx/s in capacity.
